Ledger's First Car

So, there isn't too much new here in the Pierce household. Bobby and I are counting down the days until school gets out. In case you are counting too there are 29 days left of which 3 are minimum days. We are in the home stretch and VERY excited about it. Ah summer. It gives me fuzzy feelings to think about it. ;)

We got Ledger a new car toy. He can sit on it and ride or the seat opens up and he can push it. He isn't quite able to push it with out falling down, but he can ride it around really well. It plays a million different songs and lights up as it goes. He is really liking it. It is so fun seeing him riding it around the house. Crawling in combination with walking in the walker and riding in the car equals one baby that gets into everything. We are needing to baby proof the house now too, as Ledger has learned how to open cupboards!!!! (Yes, that statement needed the four exclamation points following it.) Lots of work following him around making sure he isn't getting into any thing, but worth every once of trouble.

Ledger also started really babbling the other day. He says, "blah, blah, ya, la la, etc...". I am sure I left a few of his favorite words out, but you get the gist. It is really cute hearing his little voice and if you babble back to him he answers like he is having a conversation. We have been longing to hear "Mama" and "Dada", and I know it is right on the horizon. I have heard the statement, "Be careful what you wish for" a million times before, but I still can't wait to hear him call our names.

First Bump and a New Hair Cut

Ledger got his first real bump the other day. He has become mobile (HELP!) and he was doing his army crawl/roll when he rolled right into the leg of our coffee table. He didn't cry much. I think I freaked out more than he did. It got a pretty good sized goose egg and turned blue right away. I just had to take pictures of the first of many bumps. Notice how silly him and Bobby are being in the pictures. It obviously didn't hurt him too badly.

I got a new hair cut. Took off around 11 1/2 inches! I have never had hair this short before. I just really needed something easy and quick now that Ledger is creeping all around. Next I'm going to sell the Xterra and buy a Minivan. Just Kidding! ;)

Bobby and I went to Prom on Saturday night. It was so nice seeing the kids all dressed up. I forgot my camera though so I don't have any pictures to post. Pretty lame, I know!! I 'll just fill you all in and say that Bobby looked gorgeous in his tux and I didn't too bad in my little black dress. I'll see if there is a way to post some of Sarah's pictures on here. Speaking of, Sarah looked amazing for her Senior Prom. Her hair looked great (I did it!) and she was so beautiful. I can't believe that she is a Senior already. Before I know it Ledger will be going to his Senior Prom. I guess the army crawling isn't so bad.:)

Camping at Hollister and Monterey Bay Aquarium

So we went on our first camping trip in our new trailer. It was a great time. The second day we went to Monterey to take Ledger to the aquarium. We weren’t sure what Ledger would think about the whole thing (Would he get it? Would he like looking at the fish? Would he look at the tanks at all?), but we found out soon enough they he was very interested in all of the swimming creatures. After a little while he even tried grabbing the fish as they swam by! I tried taking lots of pictures, but I kept getting the back of his head because he wanted to look at the tanks or try grabbing the creatures. He didn’t want to take a picture. There was much cooler stuff going on in the tanks in comparison to Bob and me making funny noises, calling his name a million times, and making fools of our selves to get his attention in hopes of a beautiful picture.

After getting back to camp from our day trip to Monterey, we were joined by our fellow campers. The Marquits, The Lowes, The Howards, Bombard & Cesci all hung out with us round the camp fire. Much was to be learned on this trip. Bobby and I learned that Little and Chip are impossible to take camping now that we have Ledge. I think that Bombard and Cesci learned that tent camping stinks. The Lowes learned that camping with 2 babies is difficult, especially when you don’t have heat in your trailer. The Marquits learned that their friends (Pierces and Lowes) have gotten a little bit lame in comparison to the days before kids, and poor Phorster Howard learned that teachers are real people too (he is one of my, Bobby’s and Kenny’s students). An adventure and a blast none the less.

The trailer was excellent. Kept the Pierce family warm and comfortable. I love how much floor space it has. Ledger was able to roll around on the ground, play in his exersaucer and sit in his highchair for meals with plenty of room for Mama and Dada to walk around.

Biggest news of the trip was that Ledger cut his first tooth!! Lucky for us, he wasn’t too incredibly fussy. He is a tough little guy. He cut his second tooth 3 days later. They are both on the bottom. As soon as he will let me get near his mouth I will post some pictures of his new grin. I have to say that I miss that toothless grin, but those little toothers are really cute. Biased?? Probably! Happy to be so. :)
